My Acne Story | Tips and Advice

on
Saturday, 23 May 2015
Acne is something so many people struggle with, it can be caused by many reasons, I'll list a few here: Puberty, family history, non-comedogenic cosmetic products, smoking... These are just a few reasons of what triggers acne. Quite a lot of the time it cannot be helped, it'll just happen, especially if it's due to puberty, once you have acne it is a struggle to get rid of it. Sometimes just changing your skincare routine can clear it up (secretly wishes it was that easy for myself), but sometimes it's not that easy, medical help is sometimes needed.

5 years ago I was 14, during the early middle stages of puberty, I started to gain lots of bumps on my forehead and chin (would insert pictures, but I never kept many, during this time as I was very insecure about it). I decided to go to the doctors,  just to check if it was acne, because it didn't look like the average "stereotypical look", so it made me quite curious. Turns out it was acne, it was just acne laying under my skin, it hadn't broken my skin out, it was just building up. So I was lucky in the respect it hadn't broken out and I'd caught it in time, but still, it's acne, I didn't have flawless skin and I was extremely insecure about it.
Over the next few months I went to my doctor quite a few times, I tried many different methods, we figured out my acne was due to puberty my estrogen levels kept going either very high or very low, so it was effecting my whole body. After trying different methods I ended up on two types of cream and over the past 5 years I only used them every now and then when I had a flare up of acne.

I've recently had my acne return in my latter part of puberty, so I've become even more insecure lately, I took a very quick trip back to the doctors and got put on some very strong cream and I'm currently trying to get my skin back in better condition.

My advice is to make sure to check with a doctor, because there is so many ways to control and help acne, I won't lie, the ways to help acne is never pleasant, but it is worth it.

I'm thinking of doing more acne posts, my skincare routine, make up looks, products...Even just to help one person, so if you're interested let me know :)

BRIGHTON TRIP! January 2015

on
Monday, 26 January 2015

My best friend goes to Brighton University, so she done a big move down the country. Which obviously means I miss her very much. So my boyfriend and I decided to take a extra long weekend away to visit her.

We visited to pier, which was freezing cold, but it was fun taking a walk and looking at all the stalls on there. Sea Life was absolutely brilliant, I'd always wanted to go to an aquarium, so I was in my element. I got to see all the Nemo's (clown fish, but I prefer to call them Nemo's)

Me being the biggest shopper-holic we done a lot of shopping. We went down the lanes, to the Churchill Square shopping centre and the main high streets.
In the lanes there is a MAC store, which has to be a favourite shop of mine. They were doing mini sized things for £10, so I picked up a Fix+, I also got a palette eyeshadow in 'Ground Brown' this shade is only for palettes, so unfortunately you can get a pot, but I'm excited to add it to my palette. ...I was walking around Debenhams and I saw an Urban Decay counter, I was so excited, but decided I didn't need anything.
The next day I went back and had a look, cam to the very quick decision I wanted the Naked Basics Palette, so I purchased that, I am still glad I got it.

I had a wonderful trip and I hope you enjoyed my Brighton photos.

Where do you recommend we visit next?

What I Got For Christmas 2014

on
Sunday, 28 December 2014

It's that time of year again, everyone likes to share what they've been given for Christmas and look for things they'd like to get themselves, so I guess all the 'What I Got For Christmas' posts and videos are just inspiration.

Let's start off with make up...
My lovely friend went on a big mission, MAC's 'Velvet Teddy' lipstick, the infamous lipstick Kylie Jenner uses. She is magical enough to get hold of it and give it to me as a gift!
My lovely boyfriend spoilt me and got me Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara and Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer, two of my favourite make up products.
I also received Rimmel's Scandeleyes liner in 005 Nude, which I'm excited to try.

Being obsessed with Frozen a jokey present I got was a Frozen hand wash, I'm secretly in love with this present, shhhh.
My nan swears by Ted Baker Body Souffle, she says it's one of the best she's tried, which makes me incredibly excited to try it.
Avon's Bubble Bath in Winter Rose smells b-e-a-u-tiful, roses are my favourite flowers, so this bubble bath is a dream.
Another Avon product I got given was a Far Away shimmering talc, I'm looking forward to seeing what the outcome looks like.

Knitted tights are a fashion love of mine, warm, cosy and fashionable; so I always need lots of pairs of these.
Cosy socks are my love, these ones are especially cute, I'm loving the patterns and colours.
This cutie is a 'Hottie' from Dorothy Perkins, his tummy comes out, you can microwave it and put it back and it keeps you lovely and warm.

Ahhhh, Michael Kors certainly knows how to make wonderful products, but the bracelet is wonderfully beautiful to match the watch I got last year.

I have become a bit of a perfume addict lately, so I was super excited to get this amount of them and all of them being favourites of mine; Lacoste Pink, Chanel No 5, Charlie Pink and Paradisiac Florale.

I was a very lucky girl again this year, so thank you to everyone who got me a gift :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, have a fabulous and safe new year x

Complete Christmas Gift Guide 2014

on
Sunday, 16 November 2014
Christmas is approaching and it seems everyone is Christmas shopping early this year.
I've spoken to many people who have already finished their Christmas shopping (whereas I'm know where near).

I'll be doing female gifts, male gifts, children's gifts and pet gifts! So hopefully this helps and covers a wide range.

Female gifts: Anything with Michael Kors on is a complete win, but their beautiful watches are just a classic piece of jewellery that never goes out of fashion.

The Benefit Christmas gift sets are perfect for any make up lover, with a wide range of sets and prices of them, decorated prettily for Christmas.

Onesies have been a crazy trend the past few years, there are so many different ones you can find, a few of my favourite places to them from are; F&F at Tesco, Primark, M&S and Topshop.

It's the best selling perfume in the world, Chanel no5. Every girls dream perfume! I'll be biased as it is my all time favourite perfume, but it really is a scent that suits all women and it's one I feel every woman should have at least once in her lifetime.

Male gifts: A lot of men/boys are obsessed with shoes, they all want the newest Nike shoes just released and what better time to treat them to a pair? Sports Direct always do great deals on Nike shoes.

Who doesn't ever need more socks? You can get any type suited to the person and a wide range of prices. Perfect stocking filler!

I thought this was such a cute idea for a chocolate lover, making a chocolate bar bouquet type present. Lots of companies actually create these specially for the customer too.

Soap and Glory has got a great selection of men's gift sets this Christmas. Another company who has done a good wide variety of size and prices.

Frozen once again is THE trend for kids this Christmas. Every bit of stock, in every shop is being quickly bought. So many shops have got any sort of Frozen merchandise from pencils, to clothes, to toys. So many little girls will be wanting Frozen gifts (secretly I wouldn't mind them either ;) ).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been a hit movie, I really enjoyed it. I can only assume lots of little boys would be thrilled with a Mutant Ninja Turtle of some sort on Christmas morning.

A Nintendo 3DS would be a very big present, but there are a big variety of games for all ages, boys and girls. It's one of those presents the kids will certainly love.

Another chocolate present is on the list: Hotel Chocolat do the best seasonal style chocolates and kids will love them.

Pets: It's very mixed opinions when people discuss buying pets gifts for Christmas, me personally? I think pets are apart of the family and should have a least a little treat or something. I always get my dog Bonnie lots of Christmas presents because I love spoiling her.
Pets at Home are brilliant for Christmas gifts for pets; click here to go to their website!

I hope this gave to a bit of Christmas shopping inspiration.

What do you want for Christmas this year?

REVIEW: Make Up Revolution

on
Tuesday, 20 May 2014
*

Hey everyone.

Make Up Revolution is the newest hype around and I'm lucky enough to join the hype and try their products.

Starting off with the blusher in 'Sugar'.
This is the perfect pink colour to give your cheeks that natural flushed look, a small amount goes a long way. It would suit all skin colours and leaves you looking fresh (even if you don't feel it.)

This gorgeous nail polish in 'Adore' is a great polish, perfect for Spring/Summer. It only needs two coats and leaves a lovely shine, it also doesn't chip until about the third day. The only thing is wasn't to keen on the the brush, but never the less that shouldn't stop you from getting the polishes as it really isn't a big concern.

Next is an eyeshadow in 'Adore Moi' - What a gorgeous colour, it is just the right eyeshadow for a smokey eye and I've fallen in love with this product. I can't even describe how pigmented this product is.

Ultra Black Amazing Mascara is a great everyday mascara, it's very black which I like and the brush gives your eyelashes a lovely lift, it doesn't lengthen them very much; but enough for an everyday look.

I'm a big sucker for red lipsticks and when I saw this my my package I was very excited to try it, the shade is called 'Twist'. This product really didn't disappoint, it is a completely different shade of red I have ever tried and it gorgeous. The formula is really creamy and easy to apply and lasts on your lips for a very good amount of time.

Kylie Jenner Lip Tutorial

on
Wednesday, 14 May 2014
Hey everyone.

Massive apology as I haven't posted in waaaay over a week, due to not having internet for 7 days; but I'm back with this post I hope you all like.

There has been a lot of hype on the internet over whether Kylie Jenner has had something cosmetically done to her lips, or if they're natural. Either way it's her business and I love the look, so I've found 3 drugstore products to get the desired look.

I like to start off my moisturising my lips and I hear Kylie Jenner is a fan of EOS, so I had to use an EOS lip balm in 'Sweet Mint'.

To start the lip look of I used 'Rimmel's Lasting Finish' lip liner in 'Tiramisu', I lined my outer lip and inner lip. You can go over your natural lip line a little bit to give off that you have fuller lips ( I did myself)

The 3rd and final product I use to get the look is a 'Rimmel Lasting Perfection Lipstick: Kate Moss Collection (113)' and I just cover my lips with this.

Here is the finished look:

I hope you liked this re-creation and be sure to stay tuned to my blog as I have lots of exciting posts coming soon.

Peace Out.

Review: Essie Nail Polish // Status Symbol

on
Saturday, 26 April 2014

Hey everyone.

This post is going to be a short and sweet one about Essie's nail polish in the colour 'Status Symbol'.

Essie nail polishes are my favourite nail polishes and I have tried many brands before, but it's something about their formula that gives you that manicure finish. The brush to apply the polish is one of the best, picks up enough of the polish and applied perfectly. Even without a base coat or top coat it really doesn't chip much at all, let alone with a base and top.

I feel this is a perfect bright, vibrant pink to go with a tan, especially in the Summer.

Can you recommend any of your favourite Essie colours for me to get?

Peace Out.
